But Jesus refused to permit him, but said to him, Go home to your own [family and relatives and friends] and bring back word to them of how much the Lord has done for you, and [how He has] had sympathy for you and mercy on you. (Mark 5:19 AMP)
Some of us are meant to be well known, not for money, although money may be involved. But we’re meant to be famous to be influential, to be Jesus to others, to show sympathy, and to show mercy and love to the lonely, the spiritually needy, and the hungry.
Some of us are meant to invest our hearts and insight into our homes.
The gentleman in this verse was instructed by Jesus to not follow Jesus but to go home and tell his family his witness but also how He’s more than words. He treats us with gentleness. He feels our pain and shows us how to meet each others’ needs.
