God has wings. Ruth followed Naomi to the city of the God under whose wings she came to find refuge. So He has wings of protection for us. Jesus was brokenhearted about Jerusalem whom He had longed to take under His wings but they would not have it
His wings have feathers and larger feathers called Pinions. Pinions seem to be for flight. Or maybe protection of His little ones, His children, us.
So, an angel used his wings or hand and stirred up the water at this pool and it became healing water for just enough time for one person to jump in.
God’s ways are healing, He longs to see us whole. His wings don’t hold a stopwatch. He’s always a available. He has comforting, protecting wings so that we’ll be fearless and safe. Or just maybe they’re to be blanketed under while we heal. Ruth left her home for another land because she saw something in Naomi worth staying close to. And that something was the wings of Naomi’s God. o
For an angel of the Lord went down at appointed seasons
into the pool and moved and stirred up the water;
whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in
was cured of whatever disease with which he was afflicted.
