For our light, momentary affliction
(this slight distress of the passing hour)
is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us
an everlasting weight of glory
[beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations,
a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],”
2 Corinthians 4:17 AMP
Our troubles now are tiny adornments on our soul
As earrings are to a girl’s face.
The more troubles we have the more adornment we have.
The more adornment we have the more we have in heaven to give us joy.
What makes troubles so small here is that Jesus goes before us
To prepare the trouble that Satan gave
Perfectly for us.
Then He’s holding our hand and living warm in our heart through them
And He’s in our heart afterward healing.
That’s not to say we don’t have pain in our years here.
We do and it can be misery or even more than we can bear.
But as soon as we can we let the Savior comfort us.
Then we have an adornment small and dainty or larger and beautiful
To be our beauty in the blessedness that will never cease.
